We’ve always appreciated our connection with the community. So when Girls Incorporated of Winter Haven needed the best of the best in Central Florida to replace their damaged, leaky shingle and TPO roof, the team here at A.O. Roofing didn’t hesitate.
We wasted no time heading out to replace their roof with 5,000 square feet of new shingle roofing and 8,000 square feet of new TPO roofing. Check out the below and after pictures below!

TPO stands for “Thermoplastic PolyOlefin.” It’s a type of single-ply roofing membrane that has become one of the fastest growing roofing systems, especially for flat commercial roofs. It’s laid on as a single layer which protects the roof from water and UV radiation. It’s a very sturdy roofing system that can last as long as 30 years.
In addition to the TPO, this roof has a sloped, shingled section of roof. The original roof used architectural shingles, and we used the same style for the new roof. We used Atlas brand architectural shingles, our preferred brand and style because of their high quality and affordable cost, plus great features like 3M algae protection. They also come in more colors than other shingles; in this case, we used a dark shade of gray called Summer Storm.
As a part of a full roof replacement, we also installed a new underlayment. This is a protective layer that goes under the shingle layer. We went with Atlas brand here as well, using their Ice and Water Shield underlayment for protection against wind-blown rain that works its way under shingles and ice that can form during a frost.
This was a big roof using multiple roofing systems, so it was no simple job. But after only four days, Girls Incorporated of Winter Haven was all set with a new roof. Call the pros at A.O.
