We used Atlas brand shingles for this roof, and used the same type of shingle as the original roof — architectural shingles. This ensures the customer’s new roof is sturdy and attractive at a good price, thanks to the high quality and wide range of colors available with Atlas architectural shingles. Even better, Atlas shingles feature anti-algae technology that prevents algae growth and the ugly black roof streaks it causes. Plus, they are backed by a lifetime warranty, and that peace of mind can’t be beat.
We also used an Ice and Water shield underlayment for extra protection against the elements. This layer goes under the shingles, preventing wind-blown rain or ice from damaging the roof below them and creating a watertight, self repairing barrier.
This roof replacement was at the recommendation of the customer’s insurance. We worked with their insurance company throughout the process so the homeowners could rest easy knowing we were doing everything necessary for them to get the coverage they needed.
