While most of our residential roofing projects are shingle roofs, that’s far from the only kind of roof the pros at A.O. Roofing work on. In fact, we’re well versed in all common roofing systems both residential and commercial.
Recently, we had the privilege of doing something a little different for a customer in Lake Alfred. The customer wanted to replace their roof with something long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing, so we installed a metal roofing system for their 4,300-square-foot roof with a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty. Check out the pictures below to see how it turned out.
The old roof used architectural shingles, a popular roofing system for residential roofs. The customer’s existing roof wasn’t damaged, but they wanted a change that would last for years to come and look great. So, it was a no-brainer to install a metal roofing system for them.
As you can probably guess, metal roofing systems use metal pieces or tiles to create the roof structure. Metal roofs come in a few different styles and materials, with the most common metals used being aluminum, steel, and copper. You’re likely familiar with the classic corrugated metal roof, typically made of aluminum. In this case, we installed a standing seam metal roof, which uses wide, flat panels that have a rib on each end that hide fasteners, giving a sleek and streamlined appearance. The color here is “burnished slate,” and it goes great with the rest of the home.
Besides looking great, these roofs are extremely durable, with lifespans as long as 50 years. Even better, they require very little maintenance and are excellent at withstanding the elements.
This project required slightly more work than the shingle roofs we typically work on, but we were still able to get it done in only three days.
