Roof Shingles Gone With the Wind? We Can Help

Strong winds are one of your roof’s worst enemies. When winds are strong enough, they can knock shingles off your roof, and for especially strong winds, even new shingles can be blown off. And that’s not to mention the additional dangers from debris picked up by the wind.

Recently, A.O. Roofing Services helped out a customer in Davenport with a roof replacement after their roof got wind damaged, leading to missing shingles.

Davenport Project Details

This project involved a a whole new 3,000-square-foot roof with a 10 year manufacturer’s warranty. We make a priority to complete our projects promptly for our customers’ peace of mind, and this replacement was finished within a single day. Check out these before and after pictures of the roof.

The original roof used the older, cheaper three-tab shingles, and we replaced it with an architectural shingle roof. These are sturdier shingles with a longer lifespan and more color options. In this case, we used Dual Gray colored shingles.

We used IKO brand shingles for this project. These high-quality shingles provide superior weather protection thanks to features like built-in algae resistance, blow-off protection, and a fiberglass mat for inner core strength.

Just as important as the shingles is the underlayment. This is a secondary layer that goes between the shingles and the roof deck, and provides a secondary layer of protection from the elements. We used a durable synthetic underlayment for this project to provide extra protection, especially against the wind.
