Roof Replacement Brings New Life to Haines City Home

A new roof can do more than protect one home. It can also play a role in strengthening the neighborhood around it.

A.O. Roofing Services recently had the opportunity to replace the roof on a Haines City home through the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) program. The program helps eligible residents with home rehabilitation and repairs while supporting the CRA’s larger mission of revitalizing neighborhoods and encouraging growth within the district.

For this homeowner, that meant addressing a roof that was ready for replacement and giving the home a fresh start.

Signs the Roof Needed Replacement

The 2,200-square-foot architectural shingle roof had missing and damaged shingles. Once shingles become compromised, the roofing system can become more vulnerable to Florida’s heavy rain, wind, and storms.

BEFORE

After the City of Haines City inspected the property through the CRA program, the roof was approved for replacement. A.O. Roofing Services then got to work replacing the entirety of the aging system instead of continuing to make repairs to a roof that was showing signs of deterioration.

Building a New Roofing System From the Deck Up

A full roof replacement involves so much more than the shingles homeowners see from the street. The layers underneath the shingles also play an important role in protecting the home.

A.O. Roofing installed synthetic underlayment beneath the new shingles. This creates an additional protective layer between the roof deck and exterior roofing material, helping provide another line of defense against moisture intrusion.

The roof was then finished with Atlas architectural shingles in Heatherblend. Architectural shingles provide a dimensional appearance while creating a durable exterior roofing surface suited for the demands and climate of Central Florida homes.

AFTER

A Complete Transformation in One Day

The entire 2,200-square-foot roof replacement was completed in just one day.

The Heatherblend shingles complement the home’s existing exterior while giving the property a cleaner, updated appearance. More importantly, the homeowner now has a completely renewed roofing system backed by a 15-year manufacturer warranty.

Projects like this also demonstrate why community rehabilitation programs can have an impact beyond an individual repair. Addressing necessary improvements helps homeowners protect their properties while contributing to the continued improvement of established neighborhoods.

Another Haines City Home Ready for the Years Ahead

For this Haines City homeowner, missing and damaged shingles led to an opportunity for a much larger improvement. Through the CRA program and the work of A.O. Roofing Services, the home now has a new roofing system that will provide lasting protection through Central Florida’s changing weather.
