Central Florida had a rough hurricane season this year, and it left many people in Polk County scrambling for help with their damaged roofs. When a hurricane wreaks havoc on roofs, homeowners can end up with the headache of insurance claims to get the repairs covered. But you don’t have to do it alone: A.O. Roofing can help.
We just recently helped this Winter Haven customer after a hurricane blew through and knocked shingles off their roof. The damage left their home exposed to the elements and prone to further damage. We helped them get their damaged roof replaced, and we even worked with their insurance to do it!
We replaced the roof on the home and detached garage, for a total of 3,800 square feet of new roof. Let’s take a look at the before and after pictures!

The new roof is made from architectural shingles and has a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty. In particular, we used Atlas brand shingles for this project, our preferred brand due to their unbeatable balance of price to quality, and great features like 3M algae protection. This helps to prevent damage to your roof and ugly streaking from algae growth.
Besides being durable and long-lasting, Atlas architectural shingles also boast a huge selection of colors to choose from. For this home, we went with the color “Oyster Shell,” a stunning light grey tone that really makes the home pop.
Of course, shingles alone don’t make a roof. We also applied an ice and water shield underlayment. This is a protective layer that goes underneath the shingles, providing extra protection from water that gets blown under shingles in a storm, as well as protecting against ice dams for those rare Florida nights when temperatures dip below freezing.
Thanks to our help with the insurance company, our customer get the new roof with minimal headaches during the claim process. Even better, we were able to install their new roof in only a single day!
