Recently, we had the opportunity to give back to our community in a big way, thanks to the Haines City Community Redevelopment Agency program. It works to revitalize and improve the city with home rehab and repair grants. When the city found that the home had missing and damaged shingles, A.O. Roofing was called in to help replace it through the CRA program.
This was a 1,900-square-foot roof, with a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. Let’s take a look at the before and after pictures.
BEFORE
The old, damaged roof used 3-tab shingles, an older style that’s less durable than newer shingle varieties. We updated the new roof with IKO architectural shingles. These will provide better durability for our customer to ensure their new roof lasts as long as possible. Plus architectural shingles provide extra curb appeal to the home, and come in a wide variety of colors. For this job we went with Dual Gray, which complements the blue paint on the house.
Of course, no shingle roof is complete without an underlayment. We also put in a synthetic underlayment, which goes under the shingles and protects the roof from moisture. It also prevents ice dams in the event of a frost, which can cause serious damage to the roof.
AFTER
We wasted no time on this roof replacement and got the job done in only one day.
