A.O. Roofing Services recently took a call for just such a roof replacement for a customer in Lake Wales. We’re always happy to help customers in need in Polk County and the surrounding areas, so we wasted no time in heading over and helping them out. The roof measured 2,800 square feet with a 15 year manufacturer’s warranty, and we completed the project quickly in a single day. Check out some before, during, and after pictures below.
The old roof was an architectural shingle roof, and we replaced it with the same style of architectural shingle roof. These provide a heavier, more substantial shingle than other types like three-tab shingles, which are an older, cheaper type of shingle. While three-tab shingles are considered 15-year shingles, architecture shingles are double that at 30 years. Architectural shingles also have more color options to choose from. For this project, we used Hearthstone colored shingles.
We used Atlas brand shingles for this project, which we recommend to all our customers. They include a 3M coating that protects against algae streaking, which causes unsightly black lines on your roof. They also provide a lifetime warranty.
We also used the Atlas WeatherMaster Ice & Water Underlayment for this roof replacement. It provides an additional barrier against water, protecting the roof from damage. Its asphalt seals around the nails to make it even more watertight. It also has a strong fiberglass mat to protect against tearing, a UV-protected surface , and high temperature stability.
