When Central Florida residents have an old and damaged roof in desperate need of replacement, they call the pros at A.O. Roofing Services to rebuild it better than before.
This recent job for a Plant City customer is a perfect example. Their old, three-tab, shingle roof suffered wind damage, and a replacement roof was needed. We also took care of removing and replacing a detached garage on the same property.
This was a 3,200-square-foot roof with a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty. Check out the pictures below to see our progress before, during, and after the project.
BEFORE
The old roof used three-tab shingles. These are an older style of shingle that lays flat and has three tabs on each strip, hence the name.
While three-tab shingles aren’t bad, per se, they aren’t nearly as good as architectural shingles. These are more durable, longer lasting, and at least in our opinion, more aesthetically pleasing. Due to this, we use architectural shingles for most roofing projects; they’re a little more expensive than three-tab, but they’re still affordable and well worth the extra cost.
In particular, we usually recommend Atlas brand architectural shingles. These have the added benefit of anti-algae technology which prevents unsightly black streaking on your roof from algae growth. They are also backed by a lifetime warranty, and are all-around a quality product. On top of that, they come in a wider range of colors; for this project, we used Summer Storm colored shingles.
We also used an Atlas brand underlayment for this project, the Ice and Water shield underlayment. This will provide an extra layer of defense against water, UV, and the elements in general.
Besides the roof, we also removed and replaced a detached garage for the customer. At A.O. Roofing Services, no job is too big for us, and despite going above and beyond for this customer, we still finished the project in a single day.
